AML and KYC

Monro account checks connect the person using the service with the identity, payment method and funds behind an account. KYC concerns knowing the customer; AML checks address money laundering and related misuse. A request for further information should be answered through the authorised account channel.

Operator and verification context

PRESTIGE, ELITE and SUPREME are the named loyalty statuses; benefits belong to the relevant status rather than every newly opened account.

Account details and personally owned payment instruments must be consistent. The terms allow identity verification and additional checks. Payment disputes, incomplete information or an inconsistency between the registered person and transaction can require investigation before a request is completed.

Do not use another person’s card or account to work around a declined method. The terms require deposits to have a lawful source. Checks can affect account access and payments, including requests for more information, suspension or action under the account rules. Opening another account does not resolve the original verification.

Verification readiness checklist

Practical information
Request concerns How to prepare
Identity Check validity and legibility of the requested identity document
Residential address Read the exact type and age requirement in the request
Payment ownership Match the registered name with the relevant payment evidence
Source of funds Provide evidence relevant to the transaction under review
A rejected upload Ask which field or image needs correction before resubmitting

Monitoring and account actions

When an enquiry concerns a blocked or closed Monro account, ask separately about ordinary profile data, records retained for legal obligations and technical information retained to prevent duplicate accounts. Request the period and purpose for each category. A reply about anonymisation should address the particular records requested, not just whether the account can still be accessed. Review triggers include inconsistent details and disputed payment ownership. Ask what remains outstanding and which account functions are restricted.

Safe submission and follow-up

Clarify account verification requests through the support channel inside the account service. Ask for the secure document channel before sending identity or financial material. Do not give support your password, card security code or one-time login code. Keep the case reference and the dates of submission. For handling of verification data and retention, see Privacy Policy; for the product context, see About Us.
